Alice in Wonderland – Festive Pantomime Adventure

This festive season, Pinelands Players and Milnerton Players join forces for a magical staging of Alice in Wonderland! Dive headfirst down the rabbit hole with Alice and meet a wild cast of characters in a pantomime extravaganza packed with laughs, music, and all the charm of classic panto. It’s a show for all ages and a holiday treat you won’t want to miss.

A Record-Breaking Start:

Over 120 hopefuls from age 12 to over 60 signed up to audition, filling the Milnerton Playhouse foyer with energy, song, and dance. With a second preliminary audition added to accommodate everyone, the casting process highlighted the incredible talent in the Cape Town theatre community.

Creative Collaboration:

Participants tackled everything from lively choreography to dramatic readings, led tirelessly by choreographers Shayni and Nicola. Audition scenes included crowd-favourites like “Bad Romance,” “Bare Necessities,” and “9 to 5.” Even the youngest performers got involved, bringing fresh energy to each session.

Rehearsals in Full Swing:

As musical rehearsals continue at the Clubhouse, the production team is hard at work perfecting choreography and blocking. Audiences can look forward to behind-the-scenes sneak peeks on social media as the cast and crew prep for this topsy-turvy journey to Wonderland.
