About us
Pinelands Players is an “amateur” dramatic society based in Pinelands, Cape Town. The reason for the word “amateur” is because, unlike “professionals”, we have other day jobs. None of us gets paid for acting, directing, sound, lighting or anything else to do with the production of shows. We do it because we love it. Any profit we make from our shows goes back into the society to be used for future productions. Our shows have been staged at a number of venues over the years, most recently at GrandWest and the Artscape Theatre.
Awards
Various aspects of our productions have been recognized by CATA (Cape Amateur Theatre Awards) for theatrical excellence, and we have received a number of awards.
